At the age of 22, Amanda decided she wanted more from her career. With a degree in psychology and a wealth of experience in social care, Amanda set out to explore the world. Formative years spent abroad in places such as Korea led Amanda to the discovery of the powers of eastern medicine. Upon her return to Canada, Amanda spent several years at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver.

While completing her acupuncturist studies, Amanda traveled to California to learn Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture under the guidance of Martha Lucas. After seeing firsthand how effective Cosmetic Acupuncture was in decreasing and preventing aging of the skin, as well as treating acne, Amanda was inspired. She is currently the only acupuncturist specializing solely in Cosmetic Acupuncture in Vancouver. Now a licensed acupuncturist and with a genuine interest in skin health and working with people, Amanda began her journey.

Amanda's passion and knowledge led her to create SKN Holistic Rejuvenation Clinic. SKN is the only clinic that combines the powers of Eastern medicine, medical esthetics and skin nutrition. This unique concept allows the SKN team to improve the look and health of both the skin and the internal health of each client, so results are holistic and long term. Amanda and her team continuously research and study skin health and skin nutrition - allowing them to offer the latest, most innovative treatments to clients. Over the past few years Amanda further advanced her studies to become a certified laser technician, specializing in Photo-Facials and Skin Tightening, and later went on to become trained in Medical Skin Needling. In 2011 Amanda launched her first product, called The SKN Spin - a dermal roller system.

In 2010 SKN Clinic was featured in Best Health magazine and Nuvo Magazine. In 2011 SKN Clinic was awarded Gold for Best Skin Care facility in the West Ender, and Bronze for best Laser Hair Removal Clinic in the Georgia Straight Best of Vancouver Awards. In 2011 Amanda appeared on Urban Rush speaking about the benefits of Cosmetic Acupuncture. Amanda and her team write monthly articles for Fresh Vancouver Magazine.

Amanda's Philosophy:

My goal was to build a peaceful, calm oasis filled with heart - where each and every client felt valued and taken care of. SKN would be a place where clients came to relax, laugh, cry and have fun; all while achieving healthy, vibrant skin and a balanced state of being. I can confidently say my latest team (Katelyn, Sandy and Megan) are an incredible group of ladies who truly match my vision. They are not only extremely knowledgeable, but truly passionate about helping people achieve healthy, beautiful skin. "

After graduating top of her class in Ottawa, Ontario, Katelyn accepted a position at the exclusive 4 Diamond Hotel & Wellness Spa. There she perfected various skin care treatments including Chemical peels, Enzyme Treatments, medical grade facials, and Microdermabrasion.

Her passion for modern skin care led her across the nation - promoting medical esthetics technology along the way. Her dedication to quality service didn't go unnoticed; during her tenure Katelyn was awarded Employee of the Quarter, The SPICER Award for Passion in Service, and a Star of the City for exceptional service.

In 2008 Katelyn began her career as a Laser Technician specializing in hair removal using the Cynosure and Sciton BBL platforms. She also worked as a teacher at the John Casablanca Institute.

In 2010 Katelyn joined SKN Holistic Rejuvenation Clinic and has worked hard to establish a loyal clientele base. Her dedication and genuine interest in medical esthetics and clinical skin care allows her to keep up with technological advancements happening within the industry. Katelyn is continuously advancing her knowledge and has written articles for Fresh Vancouver Magazine.

Megan started her journey in the skin care industry in her home country of Australia where she studied to become an exceptional esthetician, graduating as the "Academic Student of the Year". Since graduating she has gained experience working at both local Boutique Spas, Medi Spas and Destination Resort Spas around the world. Her skills include advanced facial treatments, chemical peels, skin needling infusions, skin analysis, and consulting and educating clients on how to effectively care for their skin. She is very passionate about the skincare industry and continuously researches the latest developments.

Her compassionate lifestyle has driven her to a more holistic approach when treating skin - she looks at the skin as a reflection of the whole body and lifestyle choices. With a keen eye for detail, an unquenchable passion for knowledge, and a remarkable intuitive ability; you know you are in loving, capable and healing hands with Megan.

Megan's Philosophy:
"My philosophy on skin care is much like my philosophy on life: the choices that we make help shape who we become. When we live and grow with grace, and admire and appreciate what we find beautiful, and apply a scientific approach to it all, we can live fully realized in all of our beauty!"

Sandy's background includes extensive experience in sales, customer service and marketing. After completing her degree in Youth Work in 2003, she had the privilege of creating and implementing successful youth programs. This inspires her playful side and brings balance to her professional life. In 2007 Sandy created her own business as an Event Planner creating glamorous weddings and large to small corporate events. Along with managing her own business, she is passionate about the SKN clinic concept and is able to network and market for SKN Clinic. She is excited to share the benefits of what SKN Clinic offers and has a strong belief in the innovative skin health approach. Sandy is excited to continue exercising her creativity in marketing and is excited to be working with such a great team.
